Austria is a trading partner of Russia. Compared to 2019, Russia's trade with this country has decreased, but, nevertheless, trade relations with Austria remain an important area of Russia's economic policy.
Most categories of food products are prohibited from being imported from Austria, since there is a ban on imports introduced by the RF Government Resolution within the framework of the 2014 sanctions. For example, the ban applies to meat and fish, fruits and vegetables, dairy and sausage products. Since the FCS of Russia has compiled a list of cover goods, special attention is paid to the codes that are used to export prohibited products. Additional inspection and examination within the framework of customs control may be assigned.
For release into free circulation, permits will be required, in particular a certificate or declaration of conformity, confirming compliance with EAEU standards.
Complex telecommunication equipment is imported only if there is a notification from the Federal Security Service, it must be received before the import of products.
Medicines and dangerous goods of Austrian origin are placed in special warehouses of temporary storage warehouses during customs clearance. In addition, these types of products require compliance with special transportation rules and are transported in specially equipped vehicles.
Machines and equipment from Austria are cleared through customs at excise customs posts.
If the products of well-known brands are fiddling, you need to obtain permission from the copyright holder to import the products.
Note! Temporary admission can be issued using an ATA carnet, saving time for registration and financial resources.
The export of goods to Austria can be divided into three stages:
Transportation of products across Russia to the place of customs control (if the distance is long and the time is minimal, air transport is used, in other cases, road or rail transport).
Export customs clearance of goods is carried out.
Additional activities may also be required, such as inspection of product quality, registration of permits, registration of an ATA carnet, and so on. So, for example, for export from Austria, you need to obtain a certificate of origin Form "A" and a standard package of permits for export.
Mainly high-tech Austrian equipment, medicines, vaccines, equipment and electronics are imported to Russia. The trade turnover with Russia amounts to about 4 billion US dollars. Imports are almost $ 2.5 billion. The share of Austria in Russia's imports in 2020 is 1.0671%.

It is convenient to carry out the delivery of various products by means of motor vehicles. You can pick up vehicles even for dangerous and oversized cargo. This method of transportation is universal and can be used for direct deliveries from Russia to Austria and back. The transportation time will be approximately 5-9 days.
In the case of transporting commodities such as ore or other bulk cargo, rail may be involved, but not as the main one. Railway delivery is included in the multimodal scheme if it is necessary to deliver the goods over long distances, for example, across Russia.
Austria is landlocked and sea shipping is irrelevant.
Air transportation is used for the transportation of urgent and valuable goods, for example, perishable foodstuffs, plants, biomaterials. During the transportation it is necessary to observe the temperature regime and ventilation of the cargo compartment. For transportation by air, you need to prepare a classic package of documentation, including permits, and special documentation.

This stage is one of the most difficult, so a beginner declarant often needs help.

measures of customs control have been assigned;
