The Kupavna railway station belongs to the Moscow railway and is located in the Bogorodsky urban district of the Moscow region, in the Gorky direction, in the urban village of Elektrougli. This is an intermediate station, according to the volume of work, assigned to the second class. To the south is the border of the Bogorodsky urban district, the Kupavna microdistrict of the city of Balashikha. The station was founded in 1898. At that time it was part of the Nizhny Novgorod railway and was called "Post of the 27th verst", then it was finally renamed in 1916 to Kupavna. The name comes from the factory village of Staraya Kupavna, for the service of which this station was created. The Kupavna railway consists of 2 main tracks and 3 receiving-departure tracks, equipped with two side platforms. To the north, there is a branch line connecting the station with the Noginsk direction. It is planned to build a high-speed railroad Moscow-Kazan. Kupavna station will be part of the high-speed highway line, laid in the direction of Noginsk.
