ATTENTION! We work only with legal entities.

Russia imports a number of natural resources from Chile: ore, metals, cathode copper, fish and seafood, some types of wood (pine, laurel, beech), ammonium nitrate, certain food products (cheese, meat, fruits, wine). All these goods have nuances in terms of transportation and customs clearance:

  1. The standard package of documents for customs clearance of fruits includes a phytosanitary certificate, and the products are subject to phytosanitary control during customs clearance.
  2. Cheese and meat are perishable goods of animal origin, therefore a veterinary certificate is issued for such a cargo. The products are transported in refrigerated trucks.
  3. Alcoholic products are subject to FSM labeling from 2021. The usual excise stamps have been canceled. FSM differ in that they represent a two-dimensional code in which EGAIS information is encrypted. And these stamps are issued electronically through the system.
  4. The import of some types of metals requires a permit from the FSTEC. It is necessary to take into account the characteristics, description and properties of the metal or products from it.
  5. Chemical compounds, ammonium nitrate, cathode copper are classified as dangerous goods, therefore they are transported and stored in compliance with special conditions. A safety certificate is required for dangerous goods.
Chile is included in the list of developing countries, therefore, certain goods are subject to preferences in the presence of a certificate of origin Form A. Upon presentation of the document, the import duty is reduced to 0.75% of the base rate.

Features of export from Russia to Chile

Russia sends chemical products to Chile, including fertilizers, oil products, timber, paper and cardboard, metals and metal products, and coal.

As for the export of metals, some alloys may also require a FSTEC license or a permit from the Export Control Commission, which depends on the volume of delivery and the activities of the recipient of the cargo.

If you export (import) waste paper, waste paper industry, you need to obtain permission from Rosprirodnadzor, a license from the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The permit confirms that the cargo does not contain hazardous, harmful substances. After that the license is issued.

Peculiarities of cargo transportation from Chile and back

Products in Chile in the opposite direction are delivered as part of groupage or general cargo using sea or air transport, due to the fact that Russia and Chile are located on different continents. To deliver the goods to the port / airport and upon arrival at the destination, road or rail transport is used.

Cargoes are sent by sea from the Chilean ports: San Antonio, Valparaiso, Lirken, Iquique, Coronel in containers and arrive at the ports of St. Petersburg, Novorossiysk, Vladivostok or others, depending on the final destination. In this way, the delivery of metals, oversized and bulk cargo, timber, coal and other raw materials is optimal; even frozen meat and seafood can be sent in refrigerated containers. The duration of transportation will be approximately 35 days.

Air delivery, as a way of transporting goods, can significantly reduce the time, but it involves large financial costs. Chile has several airports - Santiago, Cerro Moreno, Mataveri. Flights are carried out to the international airports of the Russian Federation: Sheremetyevo, Pulkovo and others. Since direct cargo flights are not regular, it is possible to deliver by connecting flights through Brazil, USA, EU countries. This option is more economical.

A direct flight will take approximately 24 days, a connecting flight will take up to 9 days. The most optimal route: from Santiago to Sheremetyevo or Domodedovo.
